The way this is done is usually split up in two types of play: Player versus Player (PvP) and Player versus Environment (PvE).

PvP consists of:

• Arena matches, where you create a team of 2, 3 or 5 people and then fight to the last team standing in the arena. Your Arena Team Rating (ATR) will change depending on whether you loose or win the match. The ATR change also depends on your opponent’s team. If they have a high ATR, you will gain a lot and vice versa.

• Honour, where you kill the opposing faction either in battlegrounds (which has an objective you will get bonus honour if completed), or in the open world.

• Zone PvP objectives, where certain zones have objectives you can complete to gain rewards. Examples are capture all the towers in a zone, gather rare materials which makes you very visible and bring it back to a camp and take over a city.

With all of the above you will either get tokens, marks or some sort of currency which you turn in for rewards.

PvE consists of:

• Instances, where you venture into dungeons with four other people and defeat monsters and bosses to get some kind of reward. Here, there is a luck factor involved, because each boss drops only one or two items every time, so you will probably not get what you need the first time you go there. However, instances are challenging, fun and you get a feeling of success after killing a hard boss.

• Questing, where you (alone or with friends) quest for rewards in the end of a long quest chain.

• Reputation, where you do tasks for a certain group or faction, and gain reputation for a job well done. Eventually, you will be promoted within their faction, and earn the right to buy rare items only sold by that faction.

• Raiding, where you and 24 other people venture into a raid dungeon for 25 people. These dungeons usually require a lot more time practicing on tactics for each and every new boss, but they are very rewarding. It’s uncommon to find people searching for these kinds of groups, as guilds travel together into these dungeons. If you want to try raiding, you should first get a guild.

9. Mining Skill from 65 to 125 in an Hour

One of the worst parts about leveling mining is when you are getting out of the Tin phase before the Iron phase. It's hard to find a large quantity of Tin, and it becomes tedious farming it. The easiest way to level up to 125 is to go to the Wetlands and find Thelgan Rock (it's near the entrance to Dun Algaz - location is 53,64). The cave there is full of spiders and Incendicite Ore that's used for a quest (Alliance only). Unfortunately, the ore itself is worthless and only used to complete the quest but you can mine it from skill 65 until about 125. The nodes respawn quickly and you can level up your mining in less than an hour if you're the only one in the cave. (You can also sell the Incendicite Ore on the Auction House to make a little extra gold in the process - get the quest from Pilot Longbeard in The Miltary Ward in Ironforge.)

8. The Mithril Circuit

If it were easy to find the rarer metals, you wouldn't be reading a WoW mining guide and you need to find a lot of mithril in order to skill up to the small Thorium nodes. The good news is that there's an amazing route through the Badlands where you are guaranteed to hit several mines every time. Just run in a ring around the outer rim of mountains in the Badlands. Towards the north the pickings are slimmer (especially because it is more traversed) but you'll still find Mithril and Iron around there. Generally, mines found toward the middle of the map will be Iron while the mountains around the edges of the map (especially in the south) contain more Mithril.

7. Learn to Smelt Dark Iron

You need to see an NPC named Gloom’rel inside of the "Chamber of the Sevens" in Blackrock Depths. He'll teach you how to smelt Dark Iron (if you have at least 230 mining skill) for two Star Rubies, ten Truesilver Bars, and twenty Gold Bars. After you're trained, you can smelt Dark Iron at the Black Forge which is also located in the Blackrock Depths. You need eight Dark Iron Ore to create one Dark Iron bar.

6. Finding Thorium Ore

Un'goro Crater is the best place to find Thorium nodes. Look in the Slithering Scar and Fire Plume Ridge for Thorium nodes and in the mountains around the edge. Burning Steppes is another great place to find Thorium - just make circuits around the zone and look for nodes to spawn in the lava cracks here. Like most ores it takes a ton of Thorium to get to 300 but it's used in many professions and sells very well on the Auction House.

5. Lesser Bloodstone Ore

Around level 35 you can get a quest from Krazak ("Favor for Krazak") in Booty Bay to go to "a mountain cave in Drywhisker Gorge, far to the north in the Arathi Highlands" and bring back 4 loads of Lesser Bloodstone Ore. The cave (at location 80,40 - go up the fissure in the mountains to get there) is guarded by level 35-38 Kobolds but they went down pretty easy to my level 35 Shaman. In addition to the Bloodstone deposits, the cave has four different chest spawn points along with plentiful Mithril and Iron nodes. After you complete the quest, you can easily sell your excess Bloodstone Ore in groups of four to other players who need to complete the quest. If you've been playing WoW for a while you know that once you hit level 20 it can become a challenge to continue to level quickly. If you haven't heard of a Horde level guide, or even just a level guide in general, you're either new to World of Warcraft or you have been spending too much time trying to figure out the game on your own. Either way, a leveling guide can really help you enjoy the time you have to play, instead of wandering around trying to figure out the next step to a quest.

A good leveling guide will give you all the information that you need to continually level your character(s).

Some leveling guides are a bit hazy on the details, leaving you wondering what's going on or what you're supposed to be doing. A leveling guide isn't a walk through, but rather a write up of what's going on, what quests to take, what is the best order to complete the quests, what spells or items are good, and when to group (if at all).

There are a bunch of free leveling guides out there, and I've used a few of them. It's always nice to know the specifics of each quest before you take it (such as how much EXP you'll get and what items you'll receive for completing it). The downside I found to the free guides were the lack of detail. In some cases, they only covered enough to get you through a quest and usually end up telling you to grind this mob or that location. I found myself spending more time out of the game trying to fill in the details that the free guides provided, instead of actually playing WoW.

5. Mortal Kombat

The one that started it all. While it may seem pixelated and dated now, it was undoubtedly the most violent video game of its time. Spawning a huge fanbase, a movie, and a plethora of sequels, most of us have probably played Mortal Kombat in at least one form of another.

Who can forget pulling in a victim with Scorpions snapping beak; "Get over here!" while following it up with a gruesome uppercut. The game used real life actors and mapped their faces onto sprites, creating a pretty strange yet realistic effect which made it all the more awesome when Sub Zero ripped someones head off, leaving their spine dangling below. Fatality!

4. Carmageddon

Originally released in 1997, this is an oldie but goldie. It's still a thoroughly enjoyable game and was a breakthrough in its time with video scenes from inside the car and real world physics.

Think Mad Max on steroids and you'll start to get a feel for Carmageddon which is set in a post apocalyptic world where the car rules. The idea is to race against a handful of other modified death cars through various levels, including deserts, industrial areas and populated cities, all to the tune of Fear Factories Demanufacture album (hell yes!). However, if you don't feel like racing you can hunt down and destroy your enemies one by one until you're the only survivor. Amongst all this, not only can you run over pedestrians, but you're actively encouraged to do so, gaining extra time and credits for combo bonuses and "artist impressions" (which you get by utterly mangling a pedestrian).

Carmageddon caused media scandal when it first launched and in most countries a "safe" version was released with zombies, robots or aliens instead of people. In some countries the game was banned completely. None of this stops it from being an absolute classic and the first go-anywhere 3D driving game which spawned 2 successful sequels.

3. Thrill Kill

Originally called S & M for Slaughter and Mutilation, Thrill Kill for PlayStation was never released, it was axed 2 weeks before it was due to go out. EA said that they didn't want to "publish such a senselessly violent game" and stated it was so offensive that they wouldn't sell the game to another publisher either. Fortunately for us former employees of EA released it onto the internet which are still available.

Incredibly simple, Thrill Kill consisted of only a single room where up to 4 opponents fight to the death. The usual life bar is replaced with a kill meter, which grows as you do more damage to your opponent, eventually you're able to activate Thrill Kills which were always awesomely brutal, sometimes sexual, moves like dismemberment, mutilation, cattle prods down the throat or crushing skulls with stilts. Oh yes. One of Cleetus' lethal finishing moves was to tear the head off his opponent and drink the blood that leaked out of his victim's severed neck. The story goes that the 8 characters all led devious lives and died in various ways, have gone to hell. A modern day hell which reflects todays real life. Marukka, the God of Secrets has pitted them against each other, promising to give rebirth to the one survivor. Each character is battling for self-preservation and the hope to be born again.

Cleetus, for example, is a redneck cannibal. The only victim that he didn't eat escaped minus a leg, which Cleetus carries around for good luck (and occasionally uses as a weapon). Dr. Faustus, a master surgeon, died from an infection after installing his stainless steel jaws, made from a bear trap.

Oddball was a top FBI agent who hunted down serial killers. He began to admire them and slowly slipped into insanity. Oddball is extremely intelligent, cunning, and without remorse. Pity, sympathy, and compassion have no meaning to him. Although his arms are bound in his cozy little straight jacket, he has learned to adapt, as any good predator should.

2. Postal 2

One feature in Postal 2 is the ability to pick up cats as an inventory item. When used, the player shoves the barrel of the currently equipped firearm into the cat's anus, as a 'silencer'. Every time a shot is fired, the cat meows in apparent agony, and the gunshot is muffled. After several shots the cat will be killed and will fly from the end of the weapon.

Any game where you can use a cat as a silencer has to be worth mentioning. Highly violent, both Postal and Postal 2 met with much protest from various activist groups. However, the Running With Scissors software company who created the series responded by saying that the amount of violence in the game is entirely dependent upon the player. In fact, it's actually possible (though very difficult) to complete the entire game without harming anyone.

The game is split from Monday to Friday and the tasks are simple things on a to-do list like 'Cash Paycheck', 'Confess sins', 'Get milk', etc. To accomplish these seemingly simple tasks, the player can chose to be peaceful or utterly, all out violent with unique gameplay changes for each choice.Some violent features include the ability to decapitate people with shovels, and then kick their heads around or play fetch with a dog, cops who beat innocent NPCs to death with batons, even if the NPC surrenders and begs for mercy and setting fire to people with gasoline, matches, napalm and moltov cocktails.Not content with just being violent, Postal 2 is also pretty disgusting. You have the ability to urinate on people, causing them to vomit in disgust. You can also urinate on food items which are then eaten and regurgitated by cops. Using an Antrhax-filled cow's head as a weapon causes victims to vomit blood. Oh and you can also stun gun people til they cower in fear and urinate themselves..Featuring ATF, SWAT, the National Guard, psycho butchers, religious cults, the Taliban and Gary Coleman, Postal 2 has earned itself a violent and revolting reputation and is illegal in at least 3 countries.

1. Manhunt

Quite possibly the most violent game in the list, Manhunt revolves around James Earl Cash who has been sentenced to death by lethal injection. His injection is replaced with a sedative and Cash is abducted by a wealthy Hollywood director. The director has a thing for Snuff flicks and sets up Cash as his latest star, butchering local gangs on film in the most violent and horrific ways possible.

The director communicates with Cash via an earpiece and security cameras record his murders. For extra points the player must carry out more gruesome kills. These range from suffocation by plastic bag, decapitation, jamming a crowbar in the enemys skull, etc.

Manhunt was banned outright in several countries when it was launched and later in the UK the game was linked to an actual murder case of a 14 year old, Stefan Pakeerah by a 17 year old, Warren Leblanc. Stefans mother claimed that Leblanc had been obsessed with Manhunt after he pleaded guilty in court and as such most vendors in the UK removed Manhunt from their stocks. This led to a significant increased demand from other retailers and internet auction sites. Police denied any link, but it still strikes a chilling cord. Especially when you consider that Leblanc murdered his friend by stabbing him with a claw hammer, identical to an execution shown in Manhunt.

Gamecube to play any Japanese game with ease, with no mod chip
required and no need to open your console.

Why do I mention Gamecube and Wii playing import games? Simply
because the Nintendo Wii is also compatible with every single
Gamecube Game, including the FreeLoader disc. Because the
Nintendo Wii can boot Gamecube Discs / games, you can also load
the Freeloader and finally take advantage of all of the great
Import games on the market. The Nintendo Wii Freeloader is a
disc, that allows any Wii owner to play import Gamecube games
without a mod chip. As you may have guessed, the Freeloader was
not actually manufactured for the Nintendo Wii, but was instead

any extras or advantages for any Nintendo Wii or Gamecube owner
who is happy to just play the offering of games available in
their own country. Its sole purpose is to allow gamers like
myself, and tens of thousands of others, to enable the playing
of Import games. While I am stressing just Japanese games in
this article as they are my own personal favorite. European
gamers can also play the latest games released only in the USA
on their PAL Gamecube or Nintendo Wii systems as well. Gamecube
import games are not just from Japan. If you're a fan or Rally
racing games, many of the best games in that genre are released
in the UK and Europe.

Just how do you use the Gamecube Freeloader on the Nintendo
Wii? First of all, think of it as a Nintendo Wii Freeloader.
Insert the disc into your Nintendo Wii just as you would your
Gamecube, and then select it from your Wii Dashboard. It'll
load up, and you'll be greeted by the Freeloader main menu,
where you'll have several selections. While it isn't loaded
with features that'll blow you away - that is exactly the reason
it's so easy to use. I suppose there aren't really a slew of
features you could pack in to software that is intended to do
just one thing - play import video games. We can thank the
simplicity and ease of use due to the few options it has.

The Freeloader is easy to use, both on the Gamecube and the
Nintendo Wii console. You simply put the disc in the Gamecube
or your Nintendo Wii, wait for it to load and then pick the map
representing the region you want to play. You'll then have to
eject the disc from your Nintendo Wii, or open the Gamecube lid,
and take out the Freeloader, put in the game you want to play
and it will just load for you. It couldn't get any easier
really.

In closing, the Freeloader for the Gamecube or Nintendo Wii is
meant to do one thing, and one thing only. It does it with ease
and work perfectly each and every time. It's not intended to do
anything else. Comparing it to other software or add ons for
either the Gamecube or the Nintendo Wii would be pointless. If
you want to start getting the latest import games without having
to wait until the hit the local market - if they ever do at all,
then the Freeloader is the easiest and cheapest way to get you
started.

Game cheats. We've all used them. With computer and console games becoming faster and more advanced, the need for game cheats are becoming more and more important to complete these games. Often we don't have enough time between work and social functions to dedicate enough time to finish an entire game, so game cheats are the way to go.

Whether it be Sony Playstation, Nintendo GameCube, Microsoft XBox, XBox 360, or computer games, game programmers often allow the player to either enter codes to unlock special weapons, secret levels, grant invulnerability or other ways to boost a characters' growth, or game cheats can be a way of interacting with the game environment to help overcome what seem to be insurmountable situations.

Some gamers consider it bad form to use game cheats. In fact, there are purist gamers who feel that the total experience of gaming is lost once you use cheat codes or game cheats.

"You can't be a Zulu Game Wizard using game cheats. Game cheats are for people who are too weak and give up too easily in the difficult parts of the games," says longtime gamer Jasper Hom.

Others disagree and argue that they can't appropriate enough time to gaming to make it past the hard parts of the games. Another problem gamers who use game cheats face is that by the time they are able to dedicate enough time to the game, a new game that they would rather play is already out on store shelves.

Whether you use game cheats or not, they are undoubtably a great way for amateur gamers to more enjoy and possibly finish some of today's difficult and challenging games. The game cheats dilemma will always be an ongoing battle between those in the gaming community.

Hundreds of games have been released for the Nintendo Gamecube since it's release in 2001. There are so many, that it can be hard to choose which you want to buy for your collection. Below is a list of the top ten must own games for Gamecube and why they should be in your collection.

10. Super Mario Sunshine - The sequel to Super Mario 64 for Nintendo 64. This game was not as well received as the Mario's first 3D adventure (It's hard to top one of the greatest games of all time) but it was very fun. Mario uses a water pack to levitate and shoot enemies. The best parts of the game though are when Mario's water pack gets stolen and you have to control him like the previous Mario games.

9. Pikmin - A new franchise for Gamecube inspired by Myiamoto's garden. Control huge swarms of tiny plant creatures and throw them at enemies, solve puzzles, and try to rebuild your space ship. This game is very fun and original. Plus you have to beat the game in 30 game days, so the entire adventure has a sense of speed and adrenaline while to try to beat the game fast enough.

8. Zelda Twilight Princess - A mature Link tries to save Princess Zelda from the worlds of dark and light. The second Zelda game for the Gamecube, it has the same graphical style as Ocarina of Time and a more mature story line than Wind Waker (see below). Twilight Princess is the first Zelda game where Link turns into a wolf and can control other animals.

7. Animal Crossing - A very simple, but addicting game. You move into a house in a new town and must get to know the townsfolk while running errands, planting trees, designing t-shirts, and decorating your house. It is like 'The Sims' for PC. I never would have thought running errands could be so fun, but I had to sell this game because I wasn't having enough time to do my real chores.

6. Donkey Kong Jungle Beat - A platforming game using the Gamecube Bongo's as the controller. Run left and right with left and right drumbeats. Jump by hitting both and punch by clapping. The game is short but each level is unique and has different goals to achieve besides just getting to the end. Probably the most unique game released on the Gamecube.

5. Zelda Wind Waker - Many people complained about the graphics on this Zelda game because they were too "kiddie". But the cartoon style really helped you feel Link's emotions because they could be so much more expressive. A very fun adventure, slightly tedious in one section (a giant boat ride across the whole world), but one of the best games for Gamecube.

4. Super Monkey Ball - Roll a monkey inside a ball. That is the basic design of this game, but it is very fun. The single player mode is like a puzzle where you have to get the monkey through a goal without falling off a ledge. But the game really shines in multiplayer mode. Monkey Boxing, Monkey Racing, and best of all Monkey Target. Up to four players can play this at once and will enjoy themselves for hours.

3. Mario Kart Double Dash - A faster, better graphics Mario Kart game plus you control two racers instead of one. Each character has a special weapon only they can receive so picking your combo of riders is very important. Good single player with many varied levels and circuits to beat but like all Mario Kart games multiplayer is the most fun. Race or battle with four players at the same time and you will be entertained for hours with your friends.

2. Super Smash Bros. Melee - A deceptively simple fighting game for the Gamecube. It uses the joystick and two buttons for almost every move. Anyone can pick up and start playing, but experts will learn different combos and "secret" moves to keep them coming back for more. Very deep single player and a four player game that is the best released on the Gamecube. It's the best selling game on the system for a reason!

1. Metroid Prime - The first 3D adventure in the Metroid series of games and it is perfectly executed. Great weapons, thoughtful puzzles, beautiful graphics, and fun game play. My personal favorite game of all time and the highest rated game on the Gamecube. If you like first person shooters or liked the original Metroid games, you will love this game.

Matt Groening, created the animated sitcom, “The Simpsons” for Fox Broadcasting Company. The idea came from the lobby of James L. Brooks's office and that’s how this popular adaptation of a dysfunctional family came about. Even the characters were named after his own family members, with the exception of lead character Bart.

On April 19, 1987, “The Simpsons” made their first appearance as shorts in The Tracey Ullman Show. When the initial submission was made, only basic sketches were handed in expecting they would be refined in production stages but they were left as is and that’s the reason why despite modification over the years the Simpsons still have a very rudimentary façade. On December 17, 1989, "Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire” was the half-hour premiere show.

The Simpsons has been debated since the start with lead character Bart often going scot-free despite wrong doings and this portrayed him as a poor role model for youngsters. It’s portrayal of the middle class American lifestyle symbolized by family members Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie Simpson. The backdrop of the show is the fictional town of Springfield, which is filled with characters, and events that are an animated and inspired from American society. Homer Simpson the father is employed as a safety inspector at Springfield Nuclear Power Plant. Often his job is at risk as a result of his casual and comic nature. His wife, Marge is a conventional American housewife and mother. Their 3 children are Bart, a ten-year-old menace, Lisa, an aware 8 year old activist and the baby Maggie, who hardly speaks but does communicate by sucking on a pacifier. They have a dog called Santa's Little Helper, and a cat, called Snowball II. Over the years, the show has celebrated even ts but the characters have not aged since the start of the show.

The Simpsons have influenced mainstream society in more ways than one. Language and terms used in this animated sitcom has made its transition into popular everyday vernacular. To the extent that Homer Simpsons popular use of the expression ‘D'oh!’ is listed in the Oxford English Dictionary without its apostrophe. Even the use of the term ‘excellent’ pronounced as ‘eexcelllent’ in the show is used by people around us. The term ‘cheese-eating surrender monkeys"’ referring to the French has been used by popularly by conservative National Review columnist Jonah Goldberg in 2003, when the French opposed the invasion of Iraq proposal. And soon it was popular lingo amongst journalists.

The Simpsons is a legendary show in respect to prime time television programs. This is because initially animated shows were thought to be for kids and airing a complete animated program on prime time for universal viewing was a bold step. Though thought to be an expensive idea, The Simpsons were aired successfully because they cut down on expenses by using Korean animation studios for in-betweening, coloring, and filming. Homer Simpson has been recognized as the forerunner in 2001's 100 Greatest TV Characters. Other awards include the TV Guide's 50 Greatest TV Shows of All Time, and a mention in the TIME's list of 100 Best TV Shows of All Time.

In 2004, they became the longest-running American animated sitcom in the United States. Regardless of criticism over the years, The Simpsons maintains a huge viewer base. The shows first season enjoyed an average of 13.4 million viewers, and the 17th season had an average of 9.2 million viewers per episode, respectively. The Simpsons Movie made $74 million in its opening weekend in the US.

The Xbox is one of the most familiar console video gaming devices on the market. It is compatible with standard AV cable, the RF connecter, TOSLINK audio and S-Video, SCART, and High Definition devices. The Xbox connect to Ethernet cable to a modem or router or as a wireless link. It can interface with a PC which greatly expands gaming potential and also has music capability as a player, a mixer or for karaoke. Accessories make it usable as a DVD player as well.

The controllers are an amazing collection of options and functions for Xbox.
